Tablet and print magazines are ‘working in combination’, claims trade body
We’ve all heard encouraging statistics about the number of tablet owners who read magazines in the U.S., but not as much about readership trends among reading device owners across the pond. Rectifying this is a new study from the UK-based Periodical Publishers Association (PPA), which states 96% of tablet owners have read a printed magazine in the last year, compared to a national average of 80%. Tablet owners, it seems, are big-time readers in general, which argues for a continued emphasis on multiplatform publishing—or so the study concludes.
