Pearl Awards Finalists Announced

Global status achieved with record number of international entries.

(Press Release) NEW YORK, NY, October 19, 2011—Finalists for the 2011 Pearl Awards were announced today, selected from a record 638 entries from 14 countries, reinforcing custom media's growth in the publishing industry.

"The energy surrounding the Pearls this year was electric," said Lori Rosen, Executive Director, Custom Content Council. "We had a steady flow of interest from all parts of the US and from Poland to Panama. This is evident of a booming content industry."

The Pearl Awards, given by the Custom Content Council, recognize excellence in custom media in the areas of design, editorial and strategic initiatives in print and digital custom media. This year's program will honor winners in 41 major categories, executives from 47 companies and include a presentation of the sixth annual John Caldwell Lifetime Achievement Award.

This year's 638 entries represent a 12 percent increase from last year's tally of 569. Brands that were submitted for awards by their custom content company partners include: Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Lowes, Mercedes-Benz, Verizon Wireless, Century 21, WebMD, Holland America, The Lance Armstrong Foundation and Charles Schwab. Entries were judged simultaneously in three different markets across the country: New York, Washington D.C. and San Francisco. Entries included magazines, newsletters, websites, blogs and videos, published for clients from a wide range of industries: tourism, travel, technology, automotive, health, retail and more.
