This week's mediaIDEAS onPoint compares app revenue generation on Apple's iOS and Google's Android platforms. Recent data from Flurry shows that for every $1.00 made by an iOS app developer, only $0.24 is made on the Android platform. Apple, with its simple (and mandatory) payment system, has made it easy for users to buy apps and make in-app purchases. Barnes & Noble and Amazon have similar systems, but that is not yet true for Google.
