of marketers say they'll invest in social media marketing in 2010; 40% of those planning to invest said they would be reallocating more than 20% of their traditional direct marketing budgets to social marketing. Also, 36% have invested in social media monitoring and analysis tools.

Media industry's Q1 Ad Revenue 
to Fall 3%
U.S. media companies will generate $36.8 billion in ad revenue for the first quarter of 2010—a 3% decline from $38 billion for the same period last year. Throughout this year, revenue is expected to remain relatively flat (down 0.1%).

Consumer Mags' Tale of the Tape
U.S. consumer magazine ad sales fell 18.1% last year while the total number of advertising pages declined 25.6% compared to 2008.

GQ App Downloads Double
Downloads of GQ's iPhone issue app nearly doubled from its December 2009 issue to the January 2010 issue. December was downloaded 6,641 times while the January issue has been downloaded more than 12,000 times.
