The recent elections were good for women in politics, and its heartening to see the magazine industry right in the thick of the emerging conversation around this new power dynamic. Both Cosmopolitan and Glamour hosted events earlier this week honoring notable women, which included many of the new faces soon to grace Washington's halls of power, such as Hawaii Congresswoman-elect Tulsi Gabbard, alongside A-list celebrities such as Sarah Jessica Parker.
According to AdWeek, Cosmo's party reflects the political activism of new editor Johanna Coles, whose presence at the helm of the nation's best-selling women's magazine ensures a more than passing role for outspoken media execs who aren't Rupert Murdoch over the next few years.
