Stats on Magazine Launches Are Irrelevant & Misleading

My friend Samir Husni has penned a short essay and complaint about "numbers" used in our industry for purposes of industry review and analysis (Click here). He bemoans the way some media reporters publish stats on the number of new titles in each quarter, and he wishes that they reached out to him for his extensive collected number of new launches. I suggest that his collection of data is very large, unique, and probably the most definitive.

First Minecraft Magazine to Launch in the UK

The UK is to get its first magazine dedicated to the hugely popular building-block game Minecraft.

Dennis Publishing is to launch a monthly magazine called Minecraft World after striking a deal with Mojang, the creator of Minecraft which was acquired by Microsoft in a $2.5bn deal last year.

It will be the first regularly published title dedicated to Minecraft - Dennis has published three standalone MagBooks, a part magazine, part book product - with the print run for the first issue set at 45,000.
