The South by Southwest (SXSW) interactive mentor session “Digital Age Editing: A Magazine Editor’s View” was hosted by editors Pam McCarthy of The New Yorker and Brandon Holley of Lucky Magazine.

Following the session, Next Issue Media sat down with McCarthy to talk long form journalism on tablets.

“When you think of ‘snackable’ [content] as the future, and you work at The New Yorker, you can really develop some intense heartburn,” McCarthy said, “because it’s very hard to get from ‘here’ to ‘there’.”

The good news, according to McCarthy, is that the digital version of their content has attracted a new audience.

Check out the video, provided to Publishing Executive by the Next Issue Media team, for the full interview.
