AARP Publications Group Publisher Promoted to VP and Publisher of AARP Services Inc.
NEW YORK—AARP Publications Group Publisher Jim Fishman has been named the new vice president and publisher of AARP Services Inc., the wholly owned subsidiary of AARP. Fishman will continue with his publishing responsibility of all AARP titles, but his new role will charge him with AARP’s events and sponsorships as well.
Fishman has been group publisher since 2003, responsible for marketing and advertising sales for AARP The Magazine, AARP Segunda Juventud and AARP Bulletin. His tenure saw the three age-segmented versions of AARP The Magazine launched.
“Both the publishing and sponsorship units are designed to offer advertiser value,” says Steve mason, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for ASI. “With the amazing success Jim has had building the advertising base for AARP Publications, he is a natural choice to lead this new integrated business unit.”
Prior to joining AARP, Fishman spent 10 years at Time Inc.’s People magazine and also held positions with Yankee Publishing.
