Press Release: ACC Docket Magazine Extends Brand with New Mobile Content Offerings for In-house Lawyers
WASHINGTON (May 12, 2015) -- The Association of Corporate Counsel's (ACC) award-winning publication, ACC Docket, today announced the launch of new online content offerings for corporate lawyers. The new content extends the publication's global reach and responds to the changing needs of the in-house counsel community. A new online presence, www.accdocket.com, organizes content by practice area, including sections addressing cross-borders challenges, law department management and timely news updates.
Today's general counsel fulfills three roles - leader of the legal department, counselor in chief and business strategist - and all in-house lawyers are expected to increase their strategic input into company operations. Given the complexity and pace of the global business environment, in-house lawyers need to react quickly to news, legal and regulatory developments. They seek advice and insights, especially unique to the in-house perspective, to apply to their daily practice.
In addition to the enhanced news section, the ACC Docket will also offer improved features for quick and easy access on mobile devices. According to the most recent ACC Docket Readership Survey (2014), more than 74 percent of readers find the Docket's digital offerings useful and more than 70 percent carry more than one portable electronic device. Although nearly three times as many readers still prefer to access content on their desktop or laptop over other electronic devices, more than two-thirds carry an iPhone while they travel and nearly 50 percent carry an iPad.
"As the only publication written by and for in-house counsel, and now with enhanced online and mobile features, the new ACC Docket site will better serve the changing demographics of the in-house community," said Tiffani Alexander, ACC Docket editor in chief. "Our readers are increasingly turning to digital platforms to get their news and the new site will help them access the latest legal trends and get to the information they need faster."
The new online content offerings focus primarily on maintaining a balance between short, concise pieces and in-depth detailed articles, mirroring readers' preferences (48 percent prefer "somewhat detailed articles" over shorter or longer pieces). ACC members will also be able to access related legal resources along with the content. An article on data breaches, for example, also connects readers with ACC resources on data breach notification policies and best practices.
