Hear the Acceptance Speeches of the 2010 Publishing Executive Hall of Fame Inductees
On Monday evening, Oct. 4, four publishing executives left their permanent marks on the industry by being inducted into the Publishing Executive Hall of Fame, the industry's most prestigious award for book and magazine operations, manufacturing and production executives, produced by Publishing Executive and Book Business magazines.
Bill Amstutz, director of publishing operations and strategic planning for NewBay Media; Ken Brooks, senior vice president, global production and manufacturing services for Cengage Learning; and Michael Lonier, chief information officer and vice president of Operations, The Deal LLC, were this year's inductees, recognized for their significant achievements in and contributions to the industry, at the Gold Ink Awards/Hall of Fame Banquet at the Hyatt Regency Ballroom. Bob Sacks (aka BoSacks), president of Precision Media Group and publisher of the daily e-newsletter Heard on the Web, also was inducted as the first-ever honorary inductee into the Publishing Executive Hall of Fame for his decades of work in publishing and advocacy for the industry.
The banquet also recognized the inductees into the Printing Impressions/RIT Hall of Fame, and showcased the winners of the 23rd annual Gold Ink Awards, representing the finest in print production in 47 categories (selected from more than 1,200 entries), including magazines, magazine covers, books, catalogs, and many more.
Nearly 200 industry executives attended the Gold Ink/Hall of Fame banquet to celebrate the achievements of the Hall of Fame inductees and the winners of the 2010 Gold Ink Awards.
