Press Release: Association Media And Publishing's Excel Awards Honors Over 100 Non-Profits
MAY 15, 2014 RESTON, VA - Association Media & Publishing is thrilled to honor the most compelling storytelling, original design, and innovative media at the 34th Annual EXCEL Awards Gala, May 19 at the Sheraton Premiere Tysons Corner, Vienna, Va.
Association Media & Publishing's EXCEL Awards is the largest and most prestigious program that exclusively recognizes excellence and leadership in nonprofit association media, publishing, and communications. Nearly 960 entries were submitted this year, and 196 winners, representing 110 nonprofit organizations and associations will be honored.
"We are continually impressed with the work that associations submit each year," said Sarah Patterson, CAE; Association Media & Publishing's Executive Director. "The winners represent the best in association communications, and I'm excited to honor them at the 34th Annual EXCEL Awards Gala."
The 34th Annual EXCEL Awards Gala will begin with a reception at 5:30 p.m., followed by formal dinner and awards presentation at 6:30 p.m. As Association Media & Publishing celebrates its 50th anniversary, the organization will reveal redesigned awards and introduce a new iconic world-class symbol of excellence. Award winning entries will be showcased at the EXCEL Awards Gala and featured in the July/August issue of Signature magazine.
The Gala is held in conjunction with Association Media & Publishing's 2014 Annual Meeting, Monday, May 19 - 21 at the Sheraton Premier Tysons Corner, Vienna, Va. The 2014 Annual Meeting will feature expert speakers, including 13-time Emmy award winning journalist, Elisabeth Leamy; Samir A. Husni, Ph.D., also known as Mr. Magazine tm, founder and director, the Magazine Innovation Center at the University of Mississippi's Meek School of Journalism and New Media; and Chris Bondy, Gannett Distinguished Professor and administrative chair of the School and Media Sciences at Rochester Institute of Technology.
