Audited Site Traffic on the Rise in January, According to BPA Report
(Press Release) Shelton, CT February 11, 2011—Average monthly page impressions across all "live" sites in the BPA Interactive traffic tool saw total impressions in January 2011 jump 13.7 percent compared to the previous month. Average monthly user sessions also saw a marked increase of 14.1 percent, while average unique browsers per site rose 14.3 percent for the month.

According BPA's most recent traffic report, nearly every market category saw increases in unique browser activity. The Retail & Merchandising segment, with 61,658, had the greatest percentage increase of unique browsers in January; however, that was primarily due to the addition of traffic from the Publishers Weekly site (357,113 avg. unique browsers) was a significant factor in the dramatic increase. The Crafts, Games, Hobbies, Models (consumer) segment was next highest with a 43.9 percent increase in unique browser activity during the period.
Through January 2011, the number of websites participating in the BPA Interactive web traffic tool continued to climb with a total of nearly 590 sites auditing web traffic and 289 of those reporting "live" data that is available free of charge to registered advertisers and media buyers. An additional 300 "non-live" sites are in various stages of preparing to release their data to the marketplace.
In addition to the participating websites, more than 2,250 advertisers and media buyers are now accessing the audited traffic data that is organized into vertical market categories. Manufacturing & Processing (156 sites), Healthcare (130 sites) and Building & Construction (64 sites) are those market categories with the most sites participating in the BPA Interactive audit tool.
