IDG Communications CEO Bob Carrigan to Deliver Keynote at Upcoming Virtual Conference
"I can think of no one more perfect than Bob to keynote this very important event," says Noelle Skodzinski, conference program director and editorial director of Publishing Executive magazine. "Under his direction, IDG has been a true leader in digital content. It has been moving years ahead of the industry, anticipating shifts in the market and making changes that have helped the company evolve into the epitome of the modern publisher—with the focus on profitably delivering content and value to its audiences without being tied to a medium or method of distribution."
Carrigan will be interviewed by Chris Foster, president and COO of leading b-to-b publisher GIE Media and a member of the Publishing Executive editorial advisory board.
About the Conference
The Publishing Business Virtual Conference—which is free to attend—is appropriately titled "Digital Content Day @ Your Desk." It will address the most crucial issues facing publishing industry executives today, as they strive to develop profitable business models around digital content, and keep pace with new and emerging technologies, and shifting consumer and b-to-b marketplaces.
And, no travel is required to attend the event; the virtual show environment is essentially a visual depiction of an expo center rendered on attendees' computer screens via their Web browsers, so they can attend the show from their home or office computers.
They can visit the information booth or the exhibit hall to browse and chat with leading vendors, or enter the auditorium to attend educational sessions. In most sessions, attendees can ask the speakers questions. They also can see who else is attending the show and "chat" (via instant messages) with any attendees privately, as well as exchange virtual business cards to keep in touch after the show. A networking lounge enables attendees to participate in group discussions, and share their questions and insights with their peers.
