Google Executive to Keynote Publishing Executive Conference and Expo
Publishing Executive magazine has announced Google’s Jim Gerber as keynote speaker for the 2007 Publishing Executive Conference and Expo, March 5-7, at the New York Marriott Marquis, Times Square.
Gerber, content partnerships director at Google, will present the Keynote Address on Tuesday, March 6 at 9:15 a.m. The keynote address is open to all registered conference attendees.
“We are thrilled to have Jim give the keynote address at the Publishing Executive Conference and Expo. There are few companies that have as profound an influence on publishing today as Google, so it’s a major boon for our audience of publishing executives to be able to hear Jim speak in person,” says Noelle Skodzinski, Publishing Executive Conference director and editor-in-chief of Publishing Executive magazine. “I don’t know any publishing executives who will want to miss this!”
Gerber is in charge of partner recruitment and management for Google’s content-acquisition initiatives for published content, including books, journals, magazines and newspapers. This corresponds to Google products such as Google Book Search, Google Scholar and Google News Archive Search, among others. His team is responsible for the hundreds of partners participating in these initiatives. Gerber has more than 18 years of sales, business development and product marketing experience in technology-related businesses.
The Publishing Executive Conference & Expo is produced by North American Publishing Company (NAPCO), which publishes Publishing Executive, Book Business, Target Marketing, Catalog Success, In-Plant Graphics, Printing Impressions, and several other leading trade periodicals.
The Publishing Executive Conference and Expo 2007 is held concurrently with the annual Book Business Conference and Expo, which attracts book publishing executives to in-depth conference programming and technology solutions related to book manufacturing, production, marketing, distribution, fulfillment and business management and development.
In addition to a conference program featuring more than 25 sessions and more than 50 speakers, the event also features an expo with more than 100 of the industry’s top technology and service providers. The event is North America’s largest exhibition of publishing and production technology and services.
