Hachette Filipacchi Cuts Staff
Hachette Filipacchi Magazines reports that the French-owned publisher of Elle, Premiere, Woman's Day, Metropolitan Home and other consumer titles cut at least 50 jobs out of 1,000 earlier this month. Staff from sales, marketing, distribution and research departments are affected by the downsizing.
Company reports cite that Premiere alone is down 24 percent as of its September issue. Similarly, Maximum Golf folded after failing to sell on the market. Although Hachette also reports that its latest launch ELLEgirl is successful.
