IDG TechNetwork to Launch First Private Ad Exchange for Technology Vertical
(Press Release) NEW YORK, N.Y., January 12, 2011—IDG TechNetwork (www.idgtechnetwork.com), the leading technology ad network, will launch the industry's first private ad exchange focused on the technology vertical. Tech Media Exchange (TMX), www.techmediaexchange.com, will enable marketers to reach a large premium technology audience in a real-time bidding environment featuring advanced data targeting capabilities. The exchange will launch in beta next month with more than 500 select web sites and will be accessible by select demand-dide platforms (DSPs) and agency trading desks on an invitation-only basis.
"A private ad exchange is a natural extension to the IDG TechNetwork and the millions of enterprise buyers, tech enthusiasts, gamers, and entertainment fans it represents," said Peter Longo, CEO of the New York City-based IDG TechNetwork. "Curated with the same high-quality standards as the IDG TechNetwork, TMX will aggregate these audiences into a biddable environment for marketers while providing our publishers the greatest monetization and control for their inventory," Longo said.
TMX will be powered by AdMeld's (www.admeld.com) private exchange technology. AdMeld CEO Michael Barrett said: "Through their TechNetwork, IDG deeply understands the technology vertical and has a strong track record of effectively aggregating and monetizing that audience. By pairing IDG's expertise with AdMeld's private exchange technology, TMX will capture new revenue streams while providing substantial value and convenience to buyers. We're pleased to partner with IDG TechNetwork on this first-of-its -kind project."
TMX will be used by advertisers looking to take advantage of the efficiency of an automated buying platform and will complement the custom programs, varied ad units, and lead-generation services currently available with the IDG TechNetwork. Since its launch in 2008, IDG TechNetwork has experienced dramatic growth and currently works with more than 250 advertisers, delivering almost two billion impressions from approximately 90 million unique visitors a month worldwide.
