InformationWeek First B-to-B Tech Media Brand to Launch on Kindle
TechWeb's InformationWeek, a San Francisco-based business technology media brand, became available yesterday via subscription on Amazon's Kindle platform, making it the first business-to-business tech brand to make premium content available on the Kindle.
At the core of the new Kindle subscription is InformationWeek Magazine, available for $1.25 per month or .99 cents per issue. Also available for .99 cents are InformationWeek blogs.
Amazon expects to sell more than 2.6 million Kindles by the end of 2010.
"As the first tech media brand to deliver premium content on the Kindle, we can serve both our current technology-savvy audience while expanding our audience of business and mobile executives," said Rob Preston, vice president and editor in chief of InformationWeek.
"We are always listening to our growing community of registered users and it is simply about providing choice; choice in delivery, choice in format and choice in the types of content," said John Siefert, senior vice president and group publisher of InformationWeek Business Technology Network. "This also gives us unique insights on the e-reader market as it takes shape, including the increasing number of e-readers and retailers, and what users expect from this platform."
