Latest Mansueto Venture an Online Business Networking Community
Mansueto Ventures, publisher of Inc. and Fast Company magazines, announced yesterday the formation of IncBizNet (http://www.IncBizNet.com), which the company says is the first online business networking community and user-generated company database in existence exclusively for private companies.
IncBizNet.com will feature a directory of U.S.-based private companies with data regularly supplied and updated by the companies themselves. This information will include press releases, blogs, local community groups and a directory in which companies can market their products and services.
“With the formation of IncBizNet.com, we created a living network for privately held businesses that is constantly being updated with company information and business ideas,” says Ed Sussman, president of Mansueto Digital. “It will provide a unique opportunity for privately owned businesses to learn from one another and conduct business with each other. We expect the directory of companies on IncBizNet.com will become the most detailed, accurate database of private company information in the United States, because the company profile information is created by and maintained by the companies themselves.”
The network has been pre-populated with companies from this year’s Inc. 5000, which is comprised of the fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. But all U.S.-based privately held companies are eligible to participate on the network.
Mansueto Digital, the online arm of Inc. and Fast Company and the division of Mansueto Ventures that will oversee IncBizNet.com, has set a target of 1 million participating private companies. More than a dozen staff members will work on company outreach.
IncBizNet.com is one result of a $10 million investment in Mansueto Digital made by Mansueto Ventures Founder Joe Mansueto last February.
“IncBizNet will greatly enhance the capacity of our company to offer compelling sponsorship platforms to our advertisers,” says Mansueto Ventures CEO John Koten. “It will also enhance our ability to find great companies with great stories for our journalists to cover, making our magazines, Web sites and events even more compelling.”
