Lauren Bronchtein Joins MPA – The Association of Magazine Media as SVP of Research and Insights
New York, NY (March 4, 2013)—Media and advertising veteran Lauren Bronchtein has been named Senior Vice President, Research and Insights, MPA – The Association of Magazine Media, it was announced by Mary G. Berner, President & CEO, MPA.
In her new role, Bronchtein will be responsible for all marketing and measurement research activities for the organization; aggregating and analyzing data and trends that promote and prove the influence and effectiveness of Magazine Media. She will report to Berner. Bronchtein will also preside as President of PIB, a member organization administered by MPA that is the premier source of consumer magazine advertising spending and related data. She replaces Wayne Eadie, who, after serving as head of MPA research for nearly a dozen years, is stepping down to retire. He will serve in an advisory capacity at MPA through June 2013.
MPA has also named Alison Heisler as Director of Strategic Partnerships, tasked with a critical role of growing the Magazine Media network through innovative sponsorships. She will focus primarily in the digital space, but will package programs across the industry’s business lines. She will report to Christopher Kevorkian, Chief Marketing Officer, MPA.
“We’re so excited to have Lauren on board, someone who will bring passion, creativity, energy and a media-agnostic approach to crafting and communicating the industry’s unique selling proposition. She will lead the charge in conducting and identifying research that champions the Magazine Media brand experience, which delivers powerful relationships that influence, inspire and endure,” said Berner. “We are also lucky to be able to tap the considerable talents of Alison to expand and solidify MPA’s sponsor relationships, particularly in the tech arena, which is very much a sweet spot for industry growth opportunities.”
Berner added, “At the same time, we bid a fond farewell to Wayne Eadie, whose leadership and tremendous reputation in the media research community has served the industry so well over the years. We wish him the best as he begins the next chapter of his life.”
Bronchtein was most recently Consumer Insights Director for the Style & Entertainment Group at Time Inc., where she developed innovative strategies to expand client engagement with PEOPLE and PEOPLE StyleWatch magazines. Prior to that, she served as a senior level account director, brand and channel strategist for numerous advertising agencies and consulting groups (Young & Rubicam, Mediacom, TBWAChiatDay and BBDO, to name a few), whose clients included American Express, Hershey, Visa, Pizza Hut, Wonderbra, Wendy’s, Weight Watchers, Clairol, Gillette, Venus, Pepperidge Farm and more.
Heisler comes to MPA with 20 years of sales and promotional experience in magazines and new media. She began her career in magazines at The Atlantic as Research Director, then Director of Marketing. She transitioned into sales at Vanity Fair UK, continuing on this career path at Gourmet, Fast Company, and most recently, Aspen Sojourner. She has worked as a career coach and sales training consultant to numerous magazines at Condé Nast, Hearst Magazines and Meredith Corporation.
