As publishers continue their struggle to provide fresh, engaging content, they must also keep their eyes on the bottom line. Recently, Primedia's Modern Bride Group revamped the way it handles online content. The group, comprised of Modernbride.com, Marryingman.com and Weddingnetwork.com, implemented The Accumedia Convergence Platform (ACP). The interactive solution is designed to develop, manage and host Web operations for the publisher's Web-based operations.

ACP is designed specifically for publishing and media companies interested in bridging print and online operations, according to the company. For Modern Bride, the J2EE-based ACP provides a fully integrated environment with design, extends content management, personalization, commerce and multi-platform delivery capabilities. It also allows users to develop a unique, page-view pricing model that helps customers to accurately assess and budget their Web operation costs. For Modern Bride, the benefits are two-fold. Not only can the content be delivered and managed, but the revenue that is generated from the electronic ventures can be tracked.

With sales reported of $1.7 billion last year, Primedia has already established a combination of traditional and new media properties on which to capitalize.
