Motor Trend's YouTube Channel on Overdrive
Source Interlink Media's Motor Trend has achieved a significant milestone, the company announced this week: 100 million views on its YouTube channel.
Motor Trend has seen 57 million views in the past year alone, the company reports, with more than one million people "tuning in" for information about cars, trucks and SUVs every week. "These recent figures make the brand the undisputed number-one producer of original automotive related content in the United States, with the closest American competitor recording less than 40 million views," the company said in a press release.
Viewership has been driven by the brand's move into producing TV-style long-form videos, from a beginning in short reviews and road tests, the publisher says.
"This achievement is significant because it shows Motor Trend has truly made the transformation from a magazine to an automotive media brand that connects with its audience across a variety of media platforms," Motor Trend Editor-in-Chief Angus MacKenzie said in the press release.
In addition to its print magazines, website and YouTube channel, Motor Trend produces mobile apps, an iMag edition, radio, events and awards. The magazine reports a circulation of 1.1 million and total readership of 8 million.
