Newsweek Expands to Asia
Newsweek, which nearly left newsstands for good back in 2012, has had a slew of successes recently. Only seven months after returning to print, Newsweek announced it's first profitable month in October and has continued to build on that success. Today, owner IBT Media says that Newsweek has reached a new benchmark with the launch of its Asia edition.
"Launching an Asia edition completes the puzzle of making Newsweek a globally read publication," said Etienne Uzac, CEO and co-founder of IBT Media in a press release. "Newsweek has come a long way to reach this point. Its print operations were completely dismantled when we purchased it and now the whole framework and structure are back in place. Newsweek is stronger than ever and poised for growth."
The Asia edition will compile English content from the American edition and present it in a way that targets the geography of its new audience. Consumers will be able to purchase Newsweek on newsstands and through subscription.

New York, NY (April 2, 2015) - Newsweek, a premier weekly news magazine owned by IBT Media, today announced that it is set to launch an Asia edition that will be distributed across China, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia beginning with the issue dated April 24th that will be on sale April 17th. The Asia edition will be published in English and will feature content from the American edition with a focus that targets the geography of the new audience.

With the launch of the new edition, Newsweek will be available in three major global markets including the Americas, Europe/Middle East/Africa (EMEA) and Asia. Consumers will be able to purchase the Asia edition both on newsstands and through subscriptions.
