Outside Magazine Increases Frequency to 14 Issues Per Year
(Press Release) Santa Fe, New Mexico (September 20, 2010) — Mariah Media, publisher of Outside Magazine, announced today that it will increase the frequency of the magazine to 14 issues per year, beginning in January 2011.
In addition to the frequency increase, Outside has also been able to buck the industry trend by reporting an eight percent increase in newsstand sales for the year as well as an increase in advertising. The October 2010 issue was a huge success with ad pages up 52% over the same period last year. The boost can be attributed to a resurgence in the automotive category with a crop of advertisers consisting of Ford Edge, Cadillac, Infiniti, and Land Rover as well as a diverse group of lifestyle and fashion advertisers that include: Travelocity, Mexico, Vail Resorts, Avia, Born, New Balance, Eddie Bauer, Dickies, Rolex and Swiss Army.
"While many magazines are cutting back due to the economic climate, Outside is in a unique position due to the proven strength of the brand that allows us to grow and explore new opportunities," said Scott Parmelee, Vice President/Publisher of Outside Magazine.
Earlier this year, Outside also launched a new brand extension, The Outside Television Network. The 24/7 national television network brings Outside's award-winning coverage to life while specializing in the creation and distribution of outdoor-lifestyle content to 112 premier vacation markets throughout the country.
