P3 Elects New Executive Board Members
With the presidential election still in a dead heat and both candidates wooing the critical state of Ohio, it's still too early to predict whether the country will be turned over to a new president. For Partnership in Print Production (P3), a nonprofit professional and educational association of professionals and students in graphic arts, life is much simpler.
At its recently held annual meeting, the organization gave its unanimous approval of the 2004-2005 executive board, which includes the election of Rosemary Sirico, production director of Aerosoles Inc., Edison, N.J., as president. Sirico held the P3 vice presidency for the 2003-2004 season and succeeds David Luke, New York sales director of the Form House Inc., Wykoff, NJ.
"The combined strength of the APPM (Association of Publication Production Managers) and WIP (Women In Production) illustrates the concept of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts," Luke said. The two groups combined in 2003, creating P3, with a goal of developing an agency responsive to the needs and interests of its members, he added. P3 members also elected Diane Pesce, director of quality control applications, Condé Nast, first vice president; Jennifer Bergin, print media manager, Kodak Polychrome Graphics, second vice president; Janet Cole, national accounts manager, Parsons America, secretary; and Steve Romeo, director of prepress operations, Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S., treasurer.
P3 members also introduced the new committee co-chairs that will comprise the board of directors. The program committee co-chairs are Brad Mintz, senior VP and manager of graphic services, McCann Erickson, and Joe Fazzi, production manager, magazine operations, Reader's Digest. Committee co-chairs for education are Wendy Karner, a print production freelancer, and Craig Donado, VP of manufacturing, Primedia Inc. Committee co-chairs for employment are Gary Marron, account executive, Agfa and Melissa Rosen, director, Life Marketing Services.
Membership committee co-chairs are Ken Allen, American Color, and Pete Petersen, senior account executive, Strine Printing.
