Press Release: Forbes Appoints Chief Product and Chief Technology Officers
NEW YORK, Jan. 9, 2020 – Forbes CEO Mike Federle today announced the appointments of Nina Gould and Vadim Supitskiy as Chief Product and Chief Technology Officers, respectively. Gould and Supitskiy are veterans of Forbes who have redesigned the company’s platforms, driven deeper engagement with audiences and with marketing partners, and seamlessly managed the company’s migration to the cloud – critical components that have propelled Forbes to lead the industry in digital transformation.
“Digital is the engine that powers us, and Nina and Vadim have long played pivotal roles in transforming Forbes into a brand that transcends platforms,” Federle said. “Our brand today engages more people worldwide than at any point in our history, and Nina and Vadim share a compelling vision to help us continue to grow while also cultivating greater loyalty and deeper relationships with our multifaceted audiences.”
In announcing the appointments, Federle also said that Chief Digital Officer Salah Zalatimo is leaving the company to become CEO of a unit of Block.one. “As Nina and Vadim step into their new roles, we also thank Salah for his tireless efforts over the last five years to help us become a multiplatform powerhouse,” Federle said.
Under the direction of Gould and Supitskiy, the company introduced a full-site redesign, created a new content management system called “Bertie” (named for founder B.C. Forbes) for the benefit of Forbes journalists, contributors and marketing partners, and implemented new strategies to drive deeper engagement across platforms. Simultaneously, the team completed the company’s migration to the cloud in record time.
Together, Gould and Supitskiy will continue to incorporate next-gen technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence across all platforms while also introducing best-in-class engineering practices throughout the company. They work closely with Forbes’ editorial, advertising and live events teams to create engaging experiences for all stakeholders.
Their appointments come as Forbes steps into the new decade stronger than ever. In the fourth quarter of 2019, Forbes engaged more people than ever before and set traffic records in October and November of 74.6 and 76.4 million people, respectively. In addition to scale, Forbes continues to cultivate deep relationships with stakeholders in specific communities, including CMO, CFO, FinTech, Under 30 and more.
