Meredith produces more than 3,000 new digital videos annually in its studios in New York, Seattle and Des Moines, and has more than 60,000 evergreen digital videos in the food, home, parenting, and healthy living categories on its sites. These digital destinations for the Better Homes and Gardens, Allrecipes, Parents, Shape, Martha Stewart Living and Eating Well brands.
“These added responsibilities will enable us to fully leverage Kim’s deep strategic expertise and experience in the area of cross-platform video content creation,” said Tom Harty, Meredith National Media Group President. “Her team will continue our focus on creating best-in-class video content for our key audiences – in particular the two out of three Millennial women we reach – in close coordination with our brand creative teams.”
Martin joined Meredith earlier this year to work with the senior management team on developing corporate and business unit strategies. In particular, she has focused on executing Meredith’s Millennial strategy across multiple media platforms, and in expanding video content creation strategies for brands and businesses. She will continue in this role as well.
““I am excited to work with our first-class digital video team on creating content that further deepens our engagement with our audiences – especially Millennial women – on multiple platforms and devices,” Martin said. “Given my background, I'm particularly enthusiastic about the tremendous opportunity video brings to our strong portfolio of brands, and look forward to announcing new talent partnerships that will complement our upcoming slate of premium, editorial and branded content."
Prior to joining Meredith, Martin served as President and General Manager of WE tv for nine years. In this role, Martin oversaw all aspects of the network, including marketing, programming, production, scheduling, digital media and new business opportunities. She was responsible for evolving the network brand to attract young, professional contemporary women. Martin shifted the programming strategy, expanded the digital footprint, updated the network image, and attracted celebrity talent, which all contributed to substantially increasing revenue from both affiliates and advertisers.
Martin holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Georgia State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Georgia College and State University. Martin has served on the Women in Cable and Telecommunications’ (WICT) national Board of Directors as Treasurer.
