Publishing Business Conference and Expo Announce Conference Chairs
The Publishing Business Conference and Expo—the annual event produced by Publishing Executive and Book Business magazines for thousands of magazine and book publishing executives—has announced its two Conference Chairs for 2008: Bill Amstutz, a top publishing consultant with a strong background in magazine publishing strategy, audience development and manufacturing, and John Morse, president and publisher of Merriam Webster Inc. The 2008 Publishing Business Conference and Expo is scheduled for March 10-12 at New York’s Marriott Marquis, Times Square.
Amstutz and Morse, who have both attended and spoken at the event for the last several years, offer a wealth of industry experience, insights and contacts and will work closely with the editors of Publishing Executive and Book Business in the planning and execution of the nearly 50 educational sessions available to attendees of the Publishing Business Conference.
“As a long-time reader of Publishing Executive magazine, I am thrilled to serve as Conference Chair for the Publishing Business Conference. This conference has become the must-attend media event of the year, because it blends tactical, day-to-day advice with forward-thinking, strategic trends. This year’s show will be the best yet,” says Amstutz, who formerly headed up CMP Media’s audience development, manufacturing and distribution efforts.
“It is an honor and a privilege to be serving as this year’s Conference Chair for the Publishing Business Conference and Expo. I have been attending these events since 2004 and have found them consistently to be among the most informative, collegial and stimulating publishing events I attend all year,” says Morse. “They have attracted exactly the kinds of speakers, presenters and attendees that one wishes for, and the programs have always focused on the kinds of practical issues that can truly help publishers with their businesses. I am confident that this year’s conference and expo will be one of the best, and I look forward to meeting friends, colleagues, and vendors there.
