Publishing Business Conference and Expo Announces Keynote Speaker for 2008 Show
Publishing Executive magazine and its sister publication Book Business magazine have announced the keynote speaker for the 2008 Publishing Business Conference and Expo (www.publishingbusiness.com), an annual event held each March in New York City attracting thousands of executives from the magazine- and book-publishing industries. Peter Legge, the president and CEO of Canada Wide Magazines and Communications and an internationally acclaimed public speaker, will deliver the conference’s keynote address on Monday, March 10 at 9:15 a.m. The 2008 Publishing Business Conference and Expo is scheduled for March 10-12 at the New York Marriott Marquis Times Square.
“This is very exciting news that our conference attendees will have the opportunity to hear Mr. Legge speak. I saw him deliver a keynote address several years ago, and it was something I will never forget and that I felt truly lucky to have experienced,” says Noelle Skodzinski, Publishing Executive editor in chief. “On top of being an amazing rags-to-riches type of publishing success story, he makes the audience laugh, he makes them think, and most of all, he presents really inspiring messages of how people can improve themselves and be more successful in both their personal and professional lives. There is no question why he has been rated one of the best speakers in North America, and we are thrilled that he has agreed to deliver the keynote address at the 2008 Publishing Business Conference and Expo.”
For more than 40 years, Legge has embodied the gutsy spirit of the entrepreneur. He successfully developed what began as a small-circulation television listings magazine called TV Week into the foundation of a top Canadian enterprise. As president and CEO of Canada Wide Magazines and Communications, he leads the largest independently owned publishing company in Western Canada, producing more than 30 titles, with annual revenues in excess of $25 million. He’s also an internationally acclaimed public speaker and a 1988 inductee into the Speaker Hall of Fame by the National Speakers Association.
