Publishing 3.0: Redefining the New Media Company - Sept. 16th
Attendees of the day two event will encounter some of the industry's most innovative thought leaders and learn how they're reimaging the definition of a media company.
"Transforming into an Audience-Centric Enterprise," is the day's first panel and will provide an overview of how publishers are restructuring their organizations to move away from legacy approaches and refocus their energy on developing audience-centric initiatives. This panel's challenge: how do publishers engage with an audience in more dynamic ways, create new product offerings for clients, and develop richer, more sustainable profit centers?
UBM Tech CEO Paul Miller will moderate panelists Andrew Clurman, president of Active Interest Media, Brendan Monaghan, general manager at Slate, and Andrew Reid, president of Hanley Wood Digital.
Subsequent panels will delve into how innovative audience-centric business strategies have led to publishers launching successful revenue streams around events, videos, ecommerce, and marketing and lead-generation services.
"Capitalizing On Your Community," will feature panelists Lynda Hammes, publisher at Foreign Affairs, Ryan Begelman, CEO of BisNow, and Mark Subers, group president at NAPCO.
"Driving Direct Revenue: Lead-Gen, Marketing Services & Ecommerce" will feature publishers who are driving new results-oriented lead-gen programs and marketing services and increasingly positioning themselves as marketing consultants and extensions of their clients' marketing and sales teams. Panelists will include Wired associate publisher Maya Draisin and Bon Apetit EVP of sales and marketing Scott Laine.
Following these discussions, Vox Media's Joe Alicata will deliver the day's keynote, "Making Video a First Class Citizen." Alicata will discuss how he is working to make video a functional, scalable, cross-platform enterprise at Vox.
