Pulling It All Together
Seeking to enhance its digital asset management and workflow solution offerings, R.R. Donnelley recently launched three products as part of its MediaCompass tool set.
MediaCompass pulls together production teams and helps them collaborate and instantly share critical content and color information. StudioStream, one of the three new offerings included in MediaCompass, improves the workflow for digital photographers, and allows art directors to view high-resolution photography online, company officials say.
ShareStream, Donnelley's SWOP-certified soft-proofing solution, allows online approvals of creative concepts, page edits, color retouching, and final page inspection. Completing a two-year beta test, Donnelley unleashed Digital Swatch Match, the third of the new offerings. Digital Swatch Match is a workflow and color management tool that maintains consistent color standards across work groups and through multiple media types online, company officials say.
"Quick collaboration and integrated workflows are essential to production success," says John Campanelli, president of R.R. Donnelley Print Solutions. "We developed these tools based on experiences with our customers, and made sure that they can easily integrate with each other, our services, and our customers' workflows. Our MediaCompass tools enable our customers to have more seamless and efficient workflows resulting in time and money savings, while improving quality."
The three products join Donnelley's existing offerings in its MediaCompass suite, which includes ImageMerchant, a digital asset management solution available since 1999. The product integrates with ShareStream, AdSpring, PubSpring and its workflow solution Photo-Flow. ShareStream's ability to integrate with ImageMerchant means customers use one software to find, proof, and transfer the image back to the digital asset management tool, says Mark Spencer, a spokesman for R.R. Donnelley.
"R.R. Donnelley integrates its production services to seamlessly populate its ImageMerchant customers' into their ImageMerchant digital asset management database," Spencer says. "This provides the customer with a much more integrated, reliable, fast, and simple experience."
