Quad/Graphics Veterans Assume New Roles for 2005
SUSSEX, Wis. -- Quad/Graphics announces the appointment of Thomas A. Quadracci to Chairman and chief executive officer of Quad/Graphics, and J. Joel Quadracci to president and chief Operating Officer of Quad/Graphics, effective January 1, 2005.
Currently, Thomas Quadracci serves as president and CEO, and Joel Quadracci serves as senior vice president of sales and administration. Both executives are members of Quad/Graphics' board of directors.
"We are making these appointments to further bolster company management and success while preparing for the next generation of Quadracci family leadership," says Richard A. Burke, who has served as Quad/Graphics' Chairman of the Board for the past year. Burke, best known as Chairman of Trek Corporation, will remain a vital part of Quad/Graphics' board of directors, serving as vice chairman.
"Both Tom and Joel have exemplary leadership abilities, which they've proved time and time again," says Burke. "They will build on the solid foundation already in place to make Quad/Graphics an even stronger contender in the marketplace."
In his new role as chairman and CEO, Thomas Quadracci will be involved in the overall long-term strategic development of the company. As president and COO, Joel Quadracci will have total responsibility for day-to-day operations of Quad/Graphics' core printing business and related activities, including but not limited to Manufacturing, Employee Services, Customer Service, Marketing and Sales. In addition, he will be intricately involved in the long-term strategic development of the company, particularly from a print-operations perspective.
"Both Joel and I look forward to serving Quad/Graphics in our new, expanded roles," says Thomas Quadracci. "We'll build on the skills and knowledge we have acquired over many years of working for the company and in the industry. We will ensure Quad/Graphics remains the progressive printer and employer we are today for many years to come."
"I'm pleased to broaden my leadership role at Quad/Graphics and build on my father's dream," says Joel Quadracci, referring to the late Harry V. Quadracci, who launched Quad/Graphics in 1971. "My father founded Quad/Graphics on honesty, integrity and trust, and I will continue to advance those values as our company's next president. Furthermore, we will continue our tradition of — and commitment to — having the most modern, advanced printing platform in the industry."
