Questex Media Acquires Oxford Publishing
Questex Media Group, a Newtown, Mass.-based business-to-business media company, has announced its acquisition of Oxford Publishing Inc., which publishes Nightclub & Bar Magazine and produces “The Show”—one of the largest beverage and food trade shows in North America. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Questex will fold Oxford into the Hotel and Hospitality Group division of its company, which is home to a series of publications and live events that serve the hospitality industry, including Hotel & Motel Management magazine.
Oxford President and CEO Ed Meek and COO Jennifer Robinson will continue to lead the division’s operations. “We chose to move forward with Questex as they clearly view the hospitality industry as a top priority,” says Meek. “They have an impressive track record of investing in their core hotel- and hospitality-serving media products and have much success launching new products in this market. … Our customers will truly benefit as we now have many resources at our fingertips to help us grow, at a quicker pace, the business, the event and the marketing opportunities for our supporters and partners.”

Questex’s purchase of Oxford comes only a few weeks after the company acquired Five Star Alliance, an online luxury hotel booking service.
