Real Time Image, San Bruno, Calif., received validation from its customers when a group of them nominated the latest version of Real Time Proof Express, the company's soft proofing solution, for the InterTech Technology award from the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (GATF).
The foundation recently bestowed its 2003 InterTech Award on the company for Real Time Proof Express, and in recognition of Real Time's innovative approach to online proofing. The company developed the solution using its proprietary high-resolution Internet imaging platform for the graphic arts industry, company sources say. Its color management, web-based proofing, approval, and collaboration workflows allow other online systems to collaborate and interact with Real Time solutions.
The customer validation, which led to the award, affirms "our leadership in online proofing," says Yehuda Messinger, executive vice president, graphic arts division with Real Time Image. "Since we pioneered online proofing using Internet image streaming technology, we believe we have developed applications that have substantially streamlined proofing workflows."
Among those who nominated Real Time Proof Express for the GATF award were Ro Greene, manager of electronic services at IPC/Mail-Well, Toledo, Ohio, and Tim Schultz, IT prepress support for Merrill Corp., St. Paul, Minn.
"With offices in 35 cities throughout the United States, we rely on Real Time Proof Express to accommodate our business needs," Schultz says. "Real Time Proof Express has supplied Merrill Corp. with the image streaming technology we need to manage our high volume of production in an expedient fashion."
