Rodale Inc. Promotes Jeff Tkach to Publisher, Organic Gardening
(Press Release) Emmaus, PA, February 6, 2012 – Rodale Inc. today announced that Jeff Tkach has been promoted to Publisher, Organic Gardening, effective immediately. In his new role, Tkach will lead print and digital advertising sales and marketing efforts across the brand. He will report directly to Chris Lambiase, SVP, Group Publishing.
Tkach’s appointment kicks off Organic Gardening’s 70th anniversary year, setting the stage for ongoing growth of a brand that he has been instrumental in reinventing. As Associate Publisher, Tkach helped lead Organic Gardening’s re-launch, which involved a strategic branding shift to incorporate relevant food and lifestyle topics. In addition to pushing new advertising opportunities forward, these moves earned the title a spot on Adweek’s prestigious “Hot List: 10 Under 60” and min’s Editorial & Design Award for “Best Magazine Redesign.”

As a result of his ability to create integrated marketing campaigns with proven results, Tkach has aggressively increased ad performance since joining Organic Gardening in 2006. Organic Gardening’s 2011 ad paging has grown 82 percent and revenue has catapulted nearly 230 percent compared with 2006, according to PIB. Keeping in line with the magazine’s evolving content and audience, Tkach led a dramatic shift from a 90 percent endemic roster of gardening companies to a diversified advertising base that is now 65 percent mainstream household brands.
Tkach has also made an impression on the digital advertising front, managing a 454 percent increase in revenue during the same period.
