Rosie's Magazine Launched
G + J USA and KidRo Productions, a Rosie O'Donnell company, introduced a new magazine, Rosie's. Debuting with a circulation of 4.2 million, Rosie's features stories about beauty, fashion, fitness, food, motherhood and women's issues. The magazine was tentatively titled Rosie's McCall's.
Family Circle Editor-in-Chief Susan Ungaro overseas the editorial development of the magazine for G + J USA, while working closely with O'Donnell. "The new Rosie's takes a grand tradition of a great American magazine," says Ungaro, "and blasts it into the 21st century as the most entertaining, motivating, yet irreverent must-read magazine for women."
O'Donnell explains, "I read all the women's magazines. I want Rosie's to be about the take-charge woman; the mom who knows that there's more to life than losing weight and getting gorgeous; the woman who wants to make a difference for herself, her children and her world and the woman who likes to laugh."
G + J USA is one of America's largest magazine publishers, reaching one out of every two women in the U.S. with such titles as Child, Family Circle, Fitness, YM and Inc. magazines. The $16 million publishing company is privately owned by both the Jahr Group and Bertlesmann AG.
