Spin and Uncommon Media Group Partner
Uncommon Media Group established a partnership with Spin, a popular music magazine. According to the contract, Uncommon will develop and distribute interactive CD's to the more than 800,000 subscribers who read Spin magazines monthly, launching with a Q2 2002 issue. After the initial distribution, subscribers will receive a collectable "Uncommon" CD bundled with their magazine, with additional CD's coming out monthly or quarterly.
"We started the partnership last year with Vibe and now we're bringing the brand names of 'Uncommon' and Spin together," says Lawrence Gallo, CEO of Uncommon Media Group. "Spin readers are known as the champions of cutting-edge music and culture. When combined with advertisers in this category, I see new channels of delivery for music, videos, catalogs, fashion and more."
Adds Alex Mironovich, CEO of Vibe/Spin Ventures, "We convey our passion and engage our readers through informed, opinionated, smart writing. Partnering with Uncommon represents yet another way to satisfy our readers need for the Spin brand of new music and the culture it drives. This partnership will allow our readers to interact with Spin in new and exciting ways."
With headquarters based in New York City, "Uncommon" is defining "Cross Over Media" in the new media marketplace. "Cross Over Media" combines features, content and attributes from one or more forms of media, then links, sections and merges components such as print media, CD-ROMs, the Internet and broadcast. The result is cutting-edge interactive advertising solutions for traditional advertisers, suppliers, labels and movie studios. These interactive advertising solutions allow targeting of single or multiple themes to consumers, collection of the consumer's response via a sensing technology, and access to summarized detail in real time. This response, known as "Media Metrics," is accessed via an Internet portal, where an advertiser can evaluate and commence immediate action based on that information. Additionally, "Uncommon's" interactive advertising solutions will have multi-lingual capability.
