Tim Hartman Named President of Government Executive Media Group
WASHINGTON, D.C., April 9, 2012—Atlantic Media president Justin Smith announced today that Tim Hartman has been named President of Government Executive Media Group, the award-winning brand known as an essential resource for those who work in or do business with the federal government. Government Executive is the undisputed leading information platform for federal agency leaders; its audience includes 95 percent of the Senior Executive Service.
Hartman was elevated to the position of President after serving for the last year as Group Publisher and, prior to that, as General Manager. He has played a critical role in leading Government Executive through an extraordinary period of growth and innovation.
"We are thrilled to announce Tim Hartman's promotion to President of the Government Executive Media Group," said Smith. "Tim is a next-generation digital media leader who is brilliant at strategy and execution. As Government Executive Media Group heads towards its highest revenue year ever, I can't think of anyone better equipped to spearhead its growth plan across the coming years."
Hartman has been instrumental in transforming Government Executive Media Group into a digital-first enterprise. Over half of its advertising revenue is now digital, and digital ad revenue has increased 50% over last year. During the same period, there has been explosive growth in audience engagement. Since its new website was unveiled in January, traffic has increased 40% over last year. Government Executive Media Group is continuing to innovate across its portfolio, relaunching its flagship publication and its premier event series, Excellence in Government. It is aggressively pursuing a plan to double its business in 5 years, aligning with Atlantic Media's commitment to accelerated growth through digital innovation.
"I'm honored to lead Government Executive," said Hartman. "It is a transformative time for federal agencies, and we remain committed to serving the federal manager with the world-class information products they deserve."
