"With the Common Core's emphasis on informational texts and the incredible growth of 1:1 learning programs, there is a critical need for high quality resources designed for the mobile classroom," said Bob Der, Publisher of "TIME for Kids." "Collaborating with Nearpod allows us to deliver our trusted content in a new, interactive form designed to support the more rigorous learning goals as well as engage today's mobile learners."
In the past 12 months, more than 150,000 teachers and 2 million students around the globe have made Nearpod, the preferred platform for the growing ranks of K-12 schools implementing 1:1 iPad and mobile device programs. Available on the App and Play Stores as well as online, Nearpod is a device agnostic platform that allows teachers to easily create and share interactive lessons, receive feedback on student device use, assess knowledge in real time and personalize instruction for students based on powerful analysis and reporting features, all in a mobile learning environment.
In addition to the lessons in the Nearpod Content Store, educators will continue to be able to create their own engaging Nearpod presentations by converting their existing presentations to Nearpod through the platform's easy-to-use authoring tool. All Nearpod presentations include short lesson plans and can be aligned to the Common Core State Standards, featuring multimedia content and activities appropriate for any grade level.
"For schools to maximize their investments in mobile devices, they must have access to content and resources designed for delivery in that learning environment," said Felipe Sommer, co-CEO, Nearpod. "We launched the new Nearpod Content Store to allow teachers to quickly find and download outstanding, ready-to-use learning materials that map to their instructional goals. It is particularly exciting to have a well-respected publication, such as 'TIME for Kids,' among the first to share its content on our new offering."
