Wall Street Journal Expands WSJ's Sales Team
WSJ, The Wall Street Journal's first glossy magazine, announced an expansion of its advertising sales team this week, naming Sophie Raptis as publisher and adding three others to the sales department.
Raptis joins WSJ from the Times Media in London. Ellen Asmodeo-Giglio, formerly WSJ's publisher, will now serve as vice president of sales for Weekend Edition and the Luxury sales group. Ellen Andrea Norlander has been promoted to associate publisher of marketing for WSJ, and Anthony Cenname has been appointed multimedia director, managing the Luxury Group and reporting to Asmodeo-Giglio.
"These are proven advertising sales executives who continue to deliver substantial advertising revenue to this company, even in the current economy," said Michael F. Rooney, chief revenue officer of The Wall Street Journal. "Ellen has accomplished one of the most difficult assignments -- to successfully launch and sell a luxury magazine in one of the most challenging markets since the Great Depression. Sophie brings two critically important experiences to her position -- extensive experience in managing a glossy magazine that originates within a newspaper and understanding the global luxury and retail categories."
