Xerox Unveils Next Generation of Digital Paper Line
Xerox Corp., Stamford, Conn., unveiled its third generation of gloss and silk media with the launch of its enhanced Xerox Digital Color Gloss and Xerox Digital Color Silk paper products for digital printing.
The gloss and silk-coated papers provide print shops with superior toner adhesion and optimal image quality in digital color printing processes, Xerox says.
Xerox developed the papers for production and short-run applications in conjunction with the Xerox Media Technology Center (MTC) to match the performance of its full line of DocuColor printers, including the iGen3 digital production press. The paper is suitable for variable printing applications, presentations, reports, direct mailers, newsletters and training materials, says Stephen F. Galloway, VP and general manager of Xerox Supplies North America.
"The introduction of this enhanced line of coated papers ensures our commitment to media along with our digital printing technology," Galloway says. "These products will allow the broadest variety of digital print applications."
The Xerox Digital Color Gloss and Silk text and cover papers, available in weights from 80-lb. text to 100-lb., and sizes from the 8.5" x 11" market to the 20.5" x 14.33" market, are 92 bright premium sheets with a coating formulation that provides a blue-white shade, greater brightness, good color contrast and cleaner looking images, the company says.
The paper line's high opacity and smooth surfaces allow high-quality two-sided printing, with extensive color coverage without show-through. The products also have a low running odor and improved finishing capabilities, Xerox says.
