The American Society of Magazine Editors (ASME) recently announced 86 finalists in the 36th annual National Magazine Awards. According to Magazine Publishers of America, this year featured a record number of entries. Marlene Kahan, executive director of ASME says, "Entries not only reflects the continued vitality of the magazine industry, but mirrors the diverse interests of American readers." The awards honor magazines that demonstrate superior performance in carrying out editorial objectives, technique and design, as well as print publications that successfully serve content online.
