Zinczenko, 47, had joined Bonnier from Time Inc. in 2007, when the owner of Time andSports Illustrated sold its 18 enthusiast titles to Sweden's Bonnier AB.

The situation called for facetime. Zinczenko paid the would-be advertiser, Greg Mackay, the founding owner of a diving instruction school and retail shop in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl., a visit at his office and insisted on treating him to lunch at the grill next door
