Publishing Executive‘s annual “Top Women in Magazine Publishing” feature honors leading female executives in all facets of the industry, from business management, digital, and production and manufacturing to audience development, editorial and marketing, among others. These leaders also represent various segments of magazine publishing, including business-to-business, consumer, association and custom publishing.

Each year, women are selected by Publishing Executive with input from the magazine’s advisory board and other industry constituents, including Women in Periodical Publishing (, a nonprofit organization that aims to educate, empower and support women in print and online publishing. Nominations are also received from Publishing Executive readers.

Women are considered for this honor based on several factors, including their current position and scope of responsibility; career history; career accomplishments and achievements; and involvement in the industry, such as service to industry associations. To nominate a female executive for the “Top Women in Magazine Publishing” honor, or if you have any questions, e-mail Janet Spavlik, Managing Online Editor, at
