American Red Cross, Penton Custom Media Partner on Commemorative Magazine
CLEVELAND—The American Red Cross and Penton Custom Media recently partnered to produce a custom publication celebrating the American Red Cross’ 125th anniversary. The commemorative magazine chronicles the history of the organization, which was founded by Clara Barton. The partnership turned editorial management, design and production responsibilities over to Penton.
Archived and recent photographs re-tell many of the American Red Cross’ stories, and the magazine profiles many of the volunteers and staff who devoted their time through the years to the organization’s cause. First copies of the publication were distributed at the recent American Red Cross Gala in Washington, D.C. Additional copies were sent to donors, members, local chapters, volunteers, retirees, and federal, state and local officials.
“We are very pleased to have been involved in producing such a wonderful, heartfelt publication for a world-class organization like the American Red Cross,” says Joe Pulizzi, group director, Penton Custom Media. “While the impetus for this magazine was to celebrate the storied history of the American Red Cross, anyone who reads it will instantly find a connection to the army of selfless volunteers and staff who dedicate their lives to helping their neighbors.”
