Bonnier Names Julie Smartz VP and General Manager of Brand Development
New York, N.Y., April 19, 2012 — Bonnier Corp. has appointed Julie Smartz as the new vice president and general manager of brand development. Her primary responsibilities are brand licensing, retail development and strategic partnerships. She joins Bonnier from Source Interlink Media, where she also served as vice president and general manager of brand development.

Smartz will work alongside Bonnier's Chief Brand Development Officer Sean Holzman, who said, "I'm looking forward to working with Julie. She brings an incredible amount of experience and will be a vital leader as we grow our team."
At Source Interlink Media, Smartz was responsible for the licensing of products, services, TV, radio and mobile, along with international publishing and content syndication, for popular enthusiast brands including Motor Trend, Hot Rod, Surfer and 70-plus additional brands. Prior to Source Interlink, Smartz headed up retail development for Mattel-branded consumer products. She also served as a retail buyer in Chicago for 12 years and handled national sales for a Los Angeles-based apparel manufacturer.
