Editor & Publisher Partners with MediaSpan to Improve Website
(Press Release) December 20, 2010—Visitors to E&P's website (www.editorandpublisher.com) in the coming months will find it much easier to navigate and jam-packed with a database of articles and exclusive content now that the magazine has partnered with digital content management powerhouse MediaSpan Group, Inc.
The two companies shook hands Dec. 16 and pledged to enhance productivity and increase traffic to E&P's website.
Soon, visitors will be able to easily browse E&P's deep archive database of more than 51,000 articles dating back to 1993. In addition, the Newspeople section, which details the comings and goings of news, advertising, and circulation professionals, will be expanded and will include obituaries. Other improvements include more photos and a New York Stock Exchange ticker.
Technology Director Adam Tessin said Duncan McIntosh Co. Inc., which publishes E&P as well as four other publications, has been researching content management companies for most of the year. MediaSpan, which works with Gannett, Sun Media, Advance Publications and MediaNews to provide digital content management, online marketing and/or advertising, was the perfect fit.
"MediaSpan ranks among the best we've seen," Tessin said. "We are confident it will not only improve the appearance and functionality of our publications, but also increase the productivity of our staff. It will allow us to concentrate more on the content we deliver rather than the daily upkeep of our sites, all while providing us added features and better search engine optimization techniques to help drive traffic."
Earlier this month, E&P removed the website paywall to build more traffic and make exclusive content available to visitors.
