Editor's Note: Reader's Digest Isn't the Only One Tapping Social Media
As producers of the Publishing Business Conference & Expo, the staffs of Book Business and Publishing Executive magazines have always tried to keep their collective finger squarely on the pulse of issues most important to you in planning the conference program. In that spirit, we announced a Facebook contest last week inviting YOU to choose the next conference theme.
So far, the contest has generated 1,491 visits to the conference's Facebook page and 271 contest entries. As far as a way to gain insights from our audience, we already consider this a success, and are hoping for more people to enter and vote for the top themes. From a publisher's perspective for audience engagement, this type of contest, as well as the Reader's Digest contest profiled in this week's Inbox, are proving to be effective tools to communicate with and engage your audience.
