Golf Digest & GolfNow Announce Joint Online Tee Time Reservation Partnership
(Press Release) NEW YORK, NY, Jan. 26. 2012 – Golf Digest, the world’s most widely-read golf publication, and GolfNow, the leading electronic tee time reservation platform, today announced a partnership to integrate an electronic tee-time reservation service for GolfDigest.com and provide editorial content to GolfNow. Golf Digest readers will have instant access to the world’s largest free tee time reservation system and GolfNow users will be informed by Golf Digest’s authoritative course rankings.
“We are thrilled to provide readers with the ability to easily book tee times online at any time,” said Golf Digest Chairman and Editor-in-Chief Jerry Tarde. “In a digital world where consumers increasingly expect electronic functionality in all aspects of their lives, it’s a natural and fitting partnership. We also believe the Golf Digest rankings will be an important addition to GolfNow.”
As part of the exclusive partnership, Golf Digest readers will be able to book tee times from GolfDigest.com on more than 3,500 courses participating in the GolfNow network, the industry’s largest online tee time marketer. GolfNow will incorporate Golf Digest’s comprehensive biennial rankings of America’s 100 Greatest Courses, America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses and Best In State courses into its listings on GolfNow.com and its iPhone® application. In addition, Golf Digest will also provide other editorial content, including pictures and reviews, to GolfNow users.
“This is a great partnership that really serves the golfer and helps grow the game,” said Golf Channel President Mike McCarley, who oversees the management of GolfNow.com, a Comcast digital business affiliated with Golf Channel. “Not only will Golf Digest readers appreciate the ease and convenience of booking tee times anytime they want 24/7, as well as access to some of the greatest courses across America, golf course operators will discover the benefits of exposing their courses to an entirely new group of avid golfers.”
The partnership completes the circle that begins when golfers start researching courses to play and ends when their last putt drops on the 18th hole. By joining forces, GolfNow enhances the presentation of golf courses on its platform through Golf Digest’s respected editorial rankings and content, and Golf Digest provides its readers with quick and easy access to electronic tee times. Through the partnership, golfers can easily learn about golf courses, experience them through pictures and descriptions and, once they’ve selected one to play, seamlessly book a tee time.
