Gregg S. Zegras Named New MPA-IMAG Chair
New York -- The Magazine Publishers of America's Independent Magazine Group (MPA-IMAG) named Gregg S. Zegras, Senior VP/General Manager, iVillage Parenting Network Inc. Chair of its Advisory Board.
Zegras previously served as Vice Chair of MPA-IMAG in 2004, and was the conference chair of the successful MPA-IMAG Leadership Conference in June of 2005. Cathryn Cranston, publisher, Harvard Business Review, will become the new vice chair of MPA-IMAG. Zegras will replace Stephanie Sandberg, formerly president and publisher of The New Republic, and the current VP/marketing, Fortune & Fortune Small Business.
"For the past year, Stephanie did an outstanding job as IMAG chair and we're sorry to lose her in that capacity," said Nina Link, president and CEO of the MPA. "However, we're pleased that she is remaining in the magazine industry in her new position as VP/marketing, Fortune and Fortune Small Business."
"I've truly enjoyed my three years on the IMAG board and my time with our other Indy colleagues," said Sandberg. "I know Gregg and Cathy will provide extraordinary leadership, and that IMAG as an industry force will continue to grow and prosper."
By design, the make-up of the MPA-IMAG board has consistently reflected the variety of shapes and sizes among independent publishing companies and the magazines they create. iVillage Parenting is an integrated media company that targets expectant and new mothers. Through a worldwide license agreement with Lamaze International, IVPN publishes two prenatal Lamaze magazines along with educational DVDs/videos, and a post-natal magazine titled Baby Steps. The company also owns and operates Newborn Channel, the largest in-hospital TV network in the U.S.
Prior to joining iVillage, Zegras was SVP/Client Services Director for Lois/USA.
