How to Navigate the World of E-books and Conversion: eBook Architects' Joshua Tallent and Vook's Michael Calleia to Share Strategic Insights
(January 20, 2012) -- Founder and CEO of eBook Architects' Joshua Tallent will lead an in-depth, three-part session exploring all aspects of e-book conversion during the Publishing Business Conference & Expo (March 19-21) at the New York Marriot Marquis.
Tallent will address a variety of issues that affect digital strategy, including XML workflows, InDesign workflows, outsourcing vs. in-house development, sending ePub files to Amazon, apps vs. eBooks, ePub2 vs. ePub3, and more.
Tallent plans to direct the session toward clearing up some of the publishing industry's common misconceptions about e-books. His goal is to help attendees understand the best options for their respective content when transformed to e-book format.
Attendees will walk away with a more informed perspective on the realities and benefits of e-book development, and gain strategic insight into trends in the evolving e-book market, regarding formats, devices, apps and retailers.
"The foundation of good eBooks is clean code and solid eBook design skills," says Tallent. "Whether you are a manager or an e-book developer, a clear understanding of how eBooks are made is integral to the marketing and sales of your e-book files."
Vook's Head of Product Michael Calleia will join Tallent for Part III of the session to discuss ehancement options available in the current e-book market. Calleia will offer tips on high-quality e-book design. Tallent and Calleia will end the session by addressing questions from the audience.
The E-book Conversion Workshop (parts I, II and III) will be held on Monday, March 19, starting at 1:15 p.m. For more information on the Publishing Business Conference & Expo and registration, visit http://www.publishingbusiness.com.
